Last week we received a Blue Apron Family plan box. We normally buy the 2-personplan, but this time we wanted to make some recipes meant for four. We received the ingredients for two recipes, one was Meat Empanadas (Being Argentinean, I was VERY happy about this!) and the second recipe was Spiced Chicken Souvlaki with Tahini yogurt sauce and roasted potato wedges. We loved both recipes! The souvlaki were so much fun to make and definitely a new flavor out of our comfort zone. The greek yogurt + lemon juice + mint sauce was the perfect addition to the chicken and romaine pitas.
In case you are not familiar with Blue Apron, it is a fresh ingredient and recipe delivery service in the US. Every week you receive a box filled with step–by–step seasonal recipes and pre–portioned ingredients sourced directly from farms and suppliers. Blue Apron makes it fun and easy to cook incredible meals at home, but it also opens your mind to new ways of cooking. We have learned so many new things since we started ordering them! We now include lemon zest into our food, are not afraid of spices and use minced garlic on everything! Because they use ingredients delivered within their peak growing season, we learned about many vegetables and condiments that we have never heard before. The ingredients come all pre-portioned and with a name tag, ready to use. But my favorite part is that once you are done cooking, you can keep the recipe card and make your own Blue Apron cooking book. And, if one week you are traveling or have plans, you can just skip the delivery or cancel at any time with one week’s notice! We are honestly obsessed with it… and it is a perfect way to treat your guests with some delicious homemade food!
The Blue Apron 2-person plan includes 3 meals per week at $9.99/meal
The Blue Apron Family Plan includes either 2 or 4 meals a week, at $8.74/meal
