Last weekend it was my husband’s birthday! And to celebrate I decided to go with a Halloween themed party. He grew up in Austria and most of his birthday’s were very Oktoberfest, Halloween was definitely a new b-day thing for him and it took some time to convince him. To be honest, it worked as the perfect excuse to buy all the super cute Target decorations and the Halloween ballons. This is our first time celebrating Halloween in the US, and as soon as I started to see the decorations up on the stores I started to worry! It is incredible how many decorations there are for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas… and we did not bring much stuff from Austria, so we pretty much own two stockings, a few ornaments and a wooden advent calendar. With this in mind, I knew we would end up spending a lot in the next few months, and decided to stay away from the stores and definitely in a budget! Most of these pieces were super affordable, the paper bat was too cute to ignore and the serving skeleton hands were a tiny splurge I found at Marshall’s. As for the balloons, what can I say… I love them and definitely had to get them!
Looking for food ideas I found the donuts DIY. They were super easy, and definitely a fun detail for the sweet table! I got the plastic (glow-in-the-dark!) dentures at Target and add the sugar eyes with Wilton’s icing.
