After a few years living in winter weather and thinking that my closet was ready for this weather… I realized I was completely wrong! I love my UGG boots, they keep my feet warm and cozy… but they are not enough for Northwest Indiana’s windy winter. After a snow storm, they ended up as wet as a pair of Converse. So, even though I’m a sandals kind-a girl… I decided it was time to splurge in really good winter boots. I was not happy, as I would prefer to buy a Kate Spade handbag (have you seen this cutie?)… and sadly, their boots are super cute but are not real winter boots. What I mean with real winter boots is Sorel. I made a bunch of research on different kinds of boots and checked which ones were warm, waterproof, and ligthweight (this is very important, as most of them seem to be super heavy and not good for walking). I ended up getting two pairs, one because I’m stubborn and I really wanted them… and the other ones because I knew they were what I needed. The stubborn pair is this cute L.L.Bean boots! When I saw them, I knew I had to have them. And when paired with J.Crew camp socks, they are both adorable and warm. But unless you purchase the boot liners, they are not the warmest, and that is why I also got these Sorel boots which you will see in another post. One thing to be careful when buying L.L. Bean boots is the sizing. It is terrible! I’m a 6.5 and ordered a US 5 (for kids!) and it is still big. It fits like a 7 ! But I think a smaller size would have been too tight.
With Valentine’s Day getting closer, a super cute gift idea would be a Daniel Wellington watch. They are a classy and timeless piece that will last you forever. But the very best part is that they are 15% off when you use code NOVELSTYLE at checkout! (I’m wearing the Classic St. Mawes 36 mm in Rose Gold)
