When taking pictures for the blog, we normally go for nature or city locations. Very safe and pretty areas, where I can actually be with heels or whatever clothes I picked for the day. I was not very excited when my husband suggested that I walk to the middle of the frozen lake. For the sake of the pictures, I walked a few steps in… and in the first shoots I look terrified! You might be thinking, “Ileana, don’t be silly! Walking or skating in frozen ponds is the most common thing ever!”, but I would love to remind you that I’m a city girl, a summer city girl… and this was my very first time walking on a frozen pond! My biggest concern was that it would break… and the second were my boots! These boots are the most comfy shoes I own… so the thought that they could end up soaked and ruined was equally scary. I believe that for every achievement one should have a t-shirt that celebrates it. In Dollywood they sell a t-shirt that says “I survived the TN Tornado” (that’s the name of one of their rollercoasters). I now want one that says “I survived walking fours steps in a frozen pond!” – Yes! (insert Judd Nelson’s fist in the air a.k.a. The Breakfast Club final scene) 🙂
