Last year, my husband and I moved from Austria to the US. We had most of our furniture and stuff shipped, so it took a few months to arrive. This means that the whole month of January and half February we were stuck with a sofa bed, two chairs, a dining table and a TV. It took us a few weeks to finally get the sofa bed and the dining room table… but that is another story! I did not have much to do, I did not have a driving license yet and during January most of my favorite shows were on a break! So I started to do something that I was not able to do in Austria… watch tons of TV! I missed being able to watch anything … just change channels and watch whatever was on. Back there, all tv shows and movies are in german and not only I couldn’t understand half of it, but also hated how Robert De Niro, Jennifer Aniston and everyone else sounded in their fake german voices. I cannot even explain how happy I was to finally be able to watch random TV all day… it was so relaxing! And I remember the day I found out about Fixer Upper.
After watching a marathon of Reba… I started checking other things to watch… and I saw this VERY destroyed house and the plans to turn it into something amazing! It was The Gorman Story episode and it is still one of my favorite houses. After that episode… another one started, and I decided to record it and share it with my husband. That same night, I re-watched it with him and… he loved it! Now, we pretty much get all our inspiration from that show… and shop most decoration items at Magnolia Market! He has the #demoday t-shirt and I got the #shiplap one!
