I tried making Southern buttermilk biscuits a zillion times, everyone liked the results… but not me. I wanted them to be just like the ones at Mid City Grill in Johnson City, TN. Those were the yummiest biscuits I ever had… they were flaky perfection! So I just made every single recipe I came across (yep, my husband was forced to eat a lot of biscuits!). I tried drop biscuits, cookie cutter biscuits, ball biscuits, Crisco biscuits, buttermilk biscuits, milk biscuits, Pillsbury biscuits…anyways, you get the idea! And I gotta say… yesterday, after baking this batch of biscuits, I stared at it and observed how unappealing it was. Then I took a super unexcited bite… and it was amazing!!! It was just what I was looking for! Ok, it could have raised a little bit more…but those are tiny details once you find THE flavor!
Sadly, I don’t have more pictures cause I devoured them before I could arrange them well and photograph them 🙂
Here is the recipe.
Whenever I find an online recipe, I always change things and end up making an adapted version. This time, I made the same one, but I wanted to share it with you cause it was amazing! I made a recipe card with important notes to take into consideration…
