I will be completely honest with you… I used to be one of those that trusted big companies! Whenever I was told to buy something organic or natural, I would say… Why?! There are big companies with big research budgets behind these products! I would rather get those! This was until one day I realized that I couldn’t stop sneezing whenever I walked around the cleaning products aisles at the supermarket. After that, I started noticing how red my hands got whenever I touched laundry soap and this was even worst whenever I hand washed my favorite clothes.
After this, I decided to admit I was wrong and start using natural products. The first product I tried was The Honest Company’s laundry detergent. I immediately noticed that my rash and sneezing stopped… and that was the moment when everything changed. After getting the detergent at the supermarket, I decided to subscribe to their online bundle. I purchased the essential bundle and scheduled it to get a package every six weeks. This way I could start trying their products little by little, while having enough time to finish the old (super toxic ones) I already had. A few boxes later, I realized it was time to finally get Jessica Alba’s book. I learned a lot from it, not only about which food is best for you, but different harmful chemical ingredients that are pretty much everywhere! Even in carpets, paint and wallpaper… crazy! Once I had fully read it, I knew it was time to make a serious change and embrace the honest life. Don’t get me wrong, I still go to fast food restaurants and eat things that are definitely not healthy for you. But whenever I have the option, I now go for the organic/natural one.
And last week I finally had the chance to try their soy wax candle, made without lead, fragrances, dyes, parabens, phthalates, or petrochemicals. I picked the Gardenia Jasmine one, and I’m so glad I did as I loved it! I noticed it lasts longer than the average candles… and the smell is just amazing! But my favorite part is that the recycled glass tumbler can be easily reused as a vase, votive, milk tumbler…etc!
If you would like to give these products a try, I would recommend getting the Honest Essential Bundle free trial. It comes with a trial size of 5 natural, non-toxic personal care & home cleaning essentials and it includes some of my favorites (shampoo, body lotion, multi surface cleaner, healing balm and hand soap).
Disclosure: Even though I have received one of these products for free and I’m participating in an affiliate program, all opinions are my own and there is not controlling over what I say about them.
